Description

Health Promotion in HWS has three focus areas: Mental Health, Violence Prevention, and Substance Use. We offer a variety of programs on these and other topics, and work with community partners to foster a safe and healthy campus community.

We work with students to create and facilitate workshops on Violence Prevention, Substance Abuse Prevention & Harm Reduction, Physical Health, Sexual Health, Mental Health, Mindfulness, Stress Management, Time Management and much more!

Look on our events page for a schedule of upcoming events, or fill out an outreach request form to schedule a program for your organization. Health Promotion also offers four of our workshops as a pre-made "Workshop to Go" packages for use in residence halls.

Alcohol and Other Drug Safety:
-Sleep, alcohol use, and academic Impacts
-Party Expectations: In your cup or in your head? (Expectations, perception, & alcohol myopia)
-One shot, two shot, three shot, drop! (Black out, brain health, higher-risk pouring demo)
-Cougs taking care of Cougs (Bystander: Alcohol, partying & brother/sisterhood in high-risk
party situations)
