National Volunteer Week Events April 6-13

Help wrap of this year's President's Interfaith & Community Service Challenge by participating in a week of interfaith service events dedicated to disaster preparedness. On Friday of National Volunteer Week we will putting together the disaster preparedness kits after a whole year of collecting supplies. Thank you to our faith and non-faith organizations for assisting with this effort.

Monday, April 7- Dinner, Service, and a Movie! - 407 Moseley Hall at 5:30pm

Come join the MVC for dinner as we watch the interfaith film Happy and make no-sew blankets for disaster preparedness kits as a part of National Volunteer Week! Pizza will be provided! Register at: https://orgsync.com/61380/opportunities/760505/

Tuesday, April 8 - Mississippi Modern Homestead from 9am-12pm

During National Volunteer Week, the Maroon Volunteer Center is asking students to "Survive Better Together" by helping the Mississippi Modern Homestead do some Spring cleaning and planting. Wednesday, April 9 - Operation Gratitude - MSU Drill Field from 10am-12pm

The first 50 volunteers will receive free breakfast donated by McDonald's and Volunteer Starkville! Come show your support for soldiers and veterans by writing them a letter of gratitude during National Volunteer Week on the Drill Field.

Thursday, April 10 - Zombie Obstacle Course & Zombie "Actors" - MSU Drill Field from 11am-2pm

As a part of National Volunteer Week, the Maroon Volunteer Center is inviting everyone to "Survive Better Together" by participating in the Zombie Obstacle Course to create disaster preparedness kits. Volunteers will get a brief lesson about the importance of disaster preparedness kits, how to create one, and then go through a fun obstacle course to get to the free MSU ice cream at the end!  Volunteers are also needed to act as zombies. Friday, April 11 - Disaster Supply Kit Assembly - 407 Moseley Hall from 10am-2pm
