Welcome to the Medieval/Renaissance Club!
We are a branch of the Society for Creative Anachronism (So, we are also called The College of Silva Vulcani) a re-enactment society that studies everything pre-1601.
We primarily practice archery, court dances, knightly combat and sewing, but are open to all interests of this era. If there is something you want to learn, we will find someone to teach you…for free.
Unless you join knightly fighting (both genders will need an athletic cup) we have all the equipment you need to get you started. Come check us out at one of our practices (Archery is generally Tuesday, and Dance and Knightly combat have been taking turns practicing in the Chapel of Old Main) our classes (we try and have several arts related classes every semester) or our meetings. Check out the calendar!
We can’t wait to meet you!
The Medieval and Renaissance Club (Also known as The College of Silva Vulcani) is a club dedicated to learning and practicing all arts pre-1601. We do everything from Archery to sewing...we have classes on embroidery, court dance, art (such as illumination, think Book of Kells) and even knightly combat. If you want to learn how to shoot a bow, sew a dress, bind a book, carve viking runes...anything, really, this is the club for you.
If you meet multiple times per week, please indicate times for each day.
