Welcome to the GSG's OrgSync!
Please have a look around and if you have any comments, send them our way (email@example.com).
The Graduate Student Government is the only campus organization sponsored, staffed and run exclusively by graduate students. We are completely independent of the university administration, and we report only to the graduate student body. We advocate for graduate students on and off campus, bringing our concerns to University officials, USM officials, the Board of Regents, and lawmakers.
An organization’s mission statement should provide a description of the group’s purpose.
To enhance the graduate student experience through advocating on behalf of graduate students at the University of Maryland, funding social events intended to create a vibrant graduate student community, and fostering and celebrating excellence in graduate student research.
Upload a copy of your organization’s constitution.
Your constitution MUST include a "non-discrimination clause" and a clause agreeing to abide by University policies. For sample language to include, please visit http://thestamp.umd.edu/stude...
Please list any specific criteria your organization uses to determine eligibility for membership. If your organization has selective membership, please describe the selection process.
Every fee-paying graduate student at the University of Maryland is a member of Graduate Student Government. A smaller number of students, called Program Representatives, convene monthly as an Assembly to discuss issues which require collective action. Anyone can attend these open meetings, but only the Representatives can vote on the resolutions and amendments presented. We follow parliamentary procedure in the Assembly to ensure democratic and reasonably efficient operations.
If you or someone you know is interested in becoming a departmental representative, please contact the Vice President for Legislative Affairs at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please list the email address where general inquiries to the organization should be directed.
