City of Moscow Farmers Market
The Moscow Farmers Market relies on the generous time, efforts and support of our community members. Your help makes all the difference in the progress and growth of your neighborhood farmers market. Don’t want to volunteer alone? Ask one of your friends to serve with you. Volunteering at the market does not only give you service-learning hours, and experience for your resume, but also fulfillment from contributing to your local community.
Opportunity Description: Tasks that students are requested to assist with can include but are not limited to: set-up and/or break-down on market days, marketing and outreach, farmers’ assistance, waste wise monitoring and help with market programming. Happy Volunteering!
Days/Times: The Market runs every Saturday May 6th through to October 28th from 8 am - 1 pm.
Students are requested to come for 2-4 hour blocks of time. 6 am - 8 am / 8 am - 10 am / 10 am - 12 pm / 12 pm - 2 pm Volunteers MUST contact volunteer coordinator in advance with selected time.
Location: Friendship Square on Main Street in Downtown Moscow. Meet at City Tent by clock tower.
Requirements: Must wear closed toed shoes, bring a water bottle, wear family appropriate clothing, no smoking at service site and have volunteer application (if not already submitted).
- Participants are required to fill out a Moscow Farmers Market volunteer application and have it notarized and submitted before or at time of service (notary requires I.D.). Application for volunteering can be found on our website http://www.ci.moscow.id.us/arts/Pages/Volunteer.aspx or a physical copy may be picked up in the Farmers Market office (3rd floor) in City Hall. Paperwork can be turned in to the Farmers Market office in City Hall or to the Volunteer Coordinator the day of your event. There is always a free notary at any bank, credit union, Moscow City Hall, and now at the Farmers Market. You will not be able to volunteer unless paperwork is turned in.
