Spectrum Queer Student Alliance at UVU
As Utah Valley University's LGBTQIA+ / SSA / Queer Student Alliance, Spectrum serves as a supportive community for all individuals, no matter what sexual orientation or gender identity they identify with!.
We are also here for mutual support, building relationships, and understanding that we are not so alone. We embrace ourselves and strive to live authentically. As a club, our purpose is to build a framework, a support system in which all our members can participate, and spend time together.
We enjoy weekly meetings which will cover current events, future activities, and helping us understand ourselves better.
The mission of Spectrum is to serve as a supportive community for all individuals, no matter what sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression they express/identify as. We strive to provide a safe social environment on campus and in the classroom for students, faculty, staff and members of the community. To the best of its ability, the club will provide social support, advocacy, and education regarding LGBTQUIA+/SAA/Queer Identities and experiences.
Spectrum's objective is to ensure that the LBGTQIA+/SAA/Queer Community be granted the same freedoms and opportunities as everyone else. Should a club member's needs extend beyond the capabilities of the club, they will be directed to LGBT Student Services.
