Get Involved and Give Back this Fall!

Welcome back, students! We hope you had a great summer and a ready for an amazing year. If you want to give back, have fun, and build your resume through community engagement this year, UCA's Division of Outreach & Community Engagement has resources to help. Here are a few ways to get involved this fall:

    • Tutor at the Faulkner County Juvenile Court after school on Tuesdays or Thursdays from 4-5 pm! Tutors must make a one-semester commitment, and orientation will be held on September 12th. Email to request the volunteer application.
    • Mentor at the Boys & Girls Club after school through a structured 10-week curriculum for young men and young women. Apply through OrgSync at
    • Join the Big Event Committee and help plan UCA’s day of service on March 10th, 2018! Apply on OrgSync at by September 14th.
  • ONE-TIME EVENTS: Check out the calendar located in the Volunteer Opportunities portal or at to find out about scheduled events that need volunteers.
  • ONGOING SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES: Browse ALL volunteer needs of our current community partners on the Service-Learning Program website. Email for help finding an opportunity that works for you!
  • VOLUNTEER FAIR: Stop by on Tuesday, September 5th from 1-3 pm in the Student Center Ballroom (room 205) to meet 35 local nonprofit community partners and find out how you can get involved!

UCA also has several service-oriented student organizations! Check out their portals on OrgSync (look for “Service” as the category) and look for them at the RSO Fair to find a like-minded group of students who share your passion for service.

Take the Bears Serve Challenge! When you serve, don't forget to log your involvement on OrgSync! This year, we will be doing monthly gift card drawings for students who have logged service hours in OrgSync that month, in addition to recognizing ALL students who log at least 30 hours and the student who logs the MOST service hours at the Student Involvement Awards in March. You can also request a graduation cord if you’ve logged 100 hours by the time you graduate.

Have a great semester, thank you for serving, and don’t hesitate to contact us if you or your group needs help finding a service opportunity this year!
