Connecting Women of Color Conference Registration 2017

The 9th Annual Connecting Women of Color Conference "Taking our Seat at the Table" will be held on Friday February 17, 2017 on the campus of the University of Richmond at the Jepson Alumni Center.

Westhampton College has a long tradition of educating women at the University of Richmond and is dedicated to supporting all students who identify with Westhampton College, with a focus on inclusion and continued attention to underrepresented populations, including women of color, transgender, and gender expansive students.

Adapted from the Women of Color Network, Inc. the political term “women of color” surfaced in the violence against women movement in the late seventies to unify all women experiencing multiple layers of marginalization with race and ethnicity as a common issue. The term “women of color” is intended to transcend and embrace shades of color and to welcome and unite those of us who identify as women and gender expansive people of Arab/Middle-Eastern, Asian/Pacific Islander, Black/African American/Caribbean/West Indies, Hispanic/Latinx, and Native/Indigenous descent.

The conference will begin with our keynote speaker, promptly at 2:00 p.m. and check-in will open at 1:30 p.m. To best serve our attendees' needs, please fully complete this registration form.
