CCE-Led Project Garfield Elementary Mentoring is cancelled today, 2/20/19 due to weather
Description: The Garfield Elementary School program is a one-on-one mentoring experience. You will be mentoring elementary school-aged children in various subjects that could range from Math to Reading and Spelling. Garfield-Palouse Elementary is located about 45-minutes from Pullman. It is strongly recommended for WSU students to participate in this opportunity regularly.
Ages of Youth: You will be working with elementary school-aged children, K-5th grade, ages 5-11
- Background Check: You MUST complete a background check for this opportunity at least 4 days prior to the project date. Complete and submit the GarPal School District's Background Check Form to the CCE office in L45, or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org. - Other: Please dress appropriately for working with children.
- Please let CCE staff know if you are unable to participate at least 24 hours before the project meeting time.
**You will need to bring your Cougar Card to swipe into this project so your service hours can be recorded.**
Transportation: Transportation will be provided. Please meet in the CUB Lower Level L38 at 8:10 AM to meet with your group. We plan to return to campus around 12:00 PM.
Service Hours: Service hours are allocated based on the amount of direct service participation and do not include meeting time and transportation to/from the service site. Students can expect to receive approximately 2 hour of service.
