Selection Process

If your organization has selective membership, please describe the selection process.

We encourage anyone interested in any aspect of theater. We look for students who enjoy performing, writing, technical work, or even those who just like to watch theater! You DO NOT have to be a theater major to join.

Alpha Psi Omega is a an honor society, so you do need a GPA of at least 2.5. You also need to meet certain event attendance/participation requirements (outlined at the start of each semester, based on the calendar of events), through the semester by going to different events, helping at events, attending meetings, working on an Alpha Psi Omega show, etc. Point records will be maintained by the Vice President.

Inductions take place at the end of every semester. As long as you meet requirements for inductions, you will be assigned a "Big" and have to pay your one time dues fee of $40. Additionally, you will have to recite 12 lines of Shakespeare. Your big will give you a nickname and a gift.

Once you finish your pledge semester and get inducted, you will have to maintain active membership in following semesters to stay an active member.
