Organizational Information: Jefferson's mission statement is "Ensuring Learning While Challenging Each Student to Achieve Full Potential" We have opportunities for before, during and after school. This year in the Drama Club we will be learning the ropes and getting a feel for how the club will best benefit our school. Our goals include giving the students props and asking them to come up with a small play/scene, small group games, building self-character and making new friends. A small healthy snack will be provided at the beginning of our time together.

Opportunity Description: WSU students will assist with snack-time, interacting with the children, and facilitating games. Different students are welcomed each month as well as re-occurring students. 

Ages of Children/Youth: K-5th grade, 4-11 years old

Days/Times: Monday,  2:45 PM - 4:15 PM in the multi-purpose room of Jefferson Elementary School, 1150 NW Bryant St, Pullman, WA 99163

Transportation: Transportation for this opportunity is not available and will be the responsibility of the student.


  • Background check: YOU MUST COMPLETE A Pullman School District BACKGROUND CHECK AND RETURN IT TO THE JEFFERSON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL OFFICE AT LEAST 4 BUSINESS DAYS PRIOR TO YOUR SERVICE DATE. If you do not have an approved background check confirmation email before the date of your service, you will not be able to participate.

  • Other: Students must dress appropriately for working with children and teachers indoors. This also includes making sure there are no inappropriate references or branding on clothing as well.

Service Hours:  All Students are responsible for bringing a Record of Civic Engagement Form each time they are on site or at the community agency where they are serving. Additionally, students are required to obtain the appropriate signature from their community partner supervisor. Students can pick up a blank form at the CCE office (CUB LL48) on the main WSU Pullman Campus or online here. Completed hours must be submitted online here.  Select 'Jefferson Elementary School (Pullman, WA)' under the Service Partner drop-down, complete the form and upload your signed Record of Civic Engagement Form as Proof of Participation.
