Welcome to SpectrUM, the University of Miami's largest undergraduate LGBTQ+ organization!
We have general meetings every week on Thursdays at 8 PM. Meetings vary from movie watch parties to board game nights to arts and crafts. We also have Ally Series/Ally Chats every week on Mondays at 8 PM. Every week we discuss different LGBTQ+ topics. We also have weekly Picnics on the Green (barring weather) on Wednesdays from 12 PM to 2 PM.
We have a programming week every semester! Coming Out Week (COW) is in the fall and Pride Awareness Week (PAW) is in the spring. We participate in UM's annual Homecoming in the fall semester and we host DragOut, an annual drag show at the Rathskeller on campus. If you're interested in helping, reach out! We love to have members and other students participate in and lead our programming initiatives. If there are organizations you want us to co-program with (or you're from another organization and you want to co-program), let us know!
We have an office on the 2nd floor of the Shalala Student Center (SC), Office 210-K. Come by anytime! We have books, DVDs, and games you can read/watch/play in the office, or borrow for outside use. We also have a fridge, a microwave, a Keurig, and a computer available for student use.
We send out weekly emails about our meetings for the week. If you’d like to receive them, let us know by emailing email@example.com with your name and email address, and we can add you to our listserv!
