Backyard Harvest is a nonprofit organization based in Moscow, Idaho that connects low income families, seniors, and individuals with fresh, local produce. Backyard Harvest relies on volunteers who share their backyard bounty and extra fruit to help make sure that everyone in our community has healthy food to eat. To sign up for our volunteer list, click here.

Event: Students will assist Backyard Harvest with various fruit gleaning/picking (cherries, plums, apples, pears, and more) as well as gardening tasks including, but not limited to, harvesting, cleaning, weeding, watering, and plot clean up. Students MUST contact Misty Amarena, Executive Director for Backyard Harvest, for more information on tasks and location to participate.

Location: TBD. Locations vary throughout the week. Please contact Misty for more information.

Requirements: Students should wear close-toed shoes and weather appropriate, comfortable clothing that they wouldn't mind getting dirty. Sunscreen, water bottle, and hats are highly recommended.

Contact: To sign up for opportunities, students MUST contact Misty Amarena prior to service. If you would like more information about the organization and internships, please contact Misty at director@backyardharvest.org

I'd like to volunteer and I have registered as a volunteer on the backyard harvest page but no one has gotten back to me on how to or when to volunteer. Can anyone help me with that?

Misty Amarena

Hi Anne, we will also follow up with you within the next 48 hours. We haven't had any new volunteer opportunities in the past week due to storage issues, but will be back at things this weekend!

Hi! I would like to volunteer but when I went to send the email it said that something was wrong? I have registered and everything, I'm just curious when the dates and times are!
