Students Creating Opportunities, Pride, and Equality (SCOPE) is committed to provide social support and advocacy for University of Richmond students, faculty and staff. We primarily focus on those who may be struggling with questions or concerns regarding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression. SCOPE is an advocate for tolerance and acceptance of all sexual orientations and the queer identity, such as bisexual, lesbian, transgender, gay, pansexual and intersex. The organization also provides programming to allies in the progressive movement. The organization accomplishes its mission by providing meetings for open discussion of issues regarding the campus body, hosting speaker events, and creating a campus atmosphere that celebrates queer identities through activism.
