Community Engagement Leave Verification Form
Full time employees may be granted paid leave under this policy to provide "hands-on" voluntary service to their communities as part of an organized community service activity. A pre-approved list of organizations and activities is available from the Thayne Center.
Excluded from this policy is service provided through an organization where employees are members of their own organization, such as; a religious organization, a partisan political party, a fraternal lodge, etc., and/or service is only for the benefit of the membership. However, some service provided to these organizations may qualify, such as;
1. Building churches for the benefit of the community.
2. Assisting the state/county/city in non-partisan operation of the various voting activities of the community.
3. A fraternal lodge building a city park.
Attendance of social events, rallies, and fundraisers for community organizations do not qualify under the procedure. The use of state/college owned property/supplies will not be used for community service activities
