Colfax Food Pantry Volunteer (CCE Transportation Provided)
Organizational Information: The Council on Aging & Human Services (COA) is a private non-profit, public-benefit organization committed to enhancing lives and supporting communities with transportation and nutrition services. The Colfax Food Pantry is maintained by COA and serves individuals and families across Whitman County. The food pantry is open the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month from 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM.
Opportunity Description: Students will assist in food pantry operations which may include, but are not limited to, stocking, loading and unloading, assisting with clients, and cleaning.
Days/Times: Transportation will be provided. Please meet in the CUB Lower Level L38 at 1:45 PM to meet with your group. We plan to return to campus around 7:00 PM.
Requirements: Service hours are allocated based on the amount of direct service participation and do not include meeting time and transportation to/from the service site. Students can expect to receive approximately 3.5 hours of service. Students MUST wear close-toed shoes as well as weather appropriate attire that is comfortable to move around and lift in. Please let CCE staff know if you are unable to participate at least 24 hours before the project meeting time.
**You will need to bring your Cougar Card to swipe into this project so your service hours can be recorded.**
The CCE strives to sponsor activities that are accessible to all students. If you need accommodations to fully access the activities offered through the Center for Civic Engagement, please contact Natalie Robinson, Community Programs Coordinator, at (509) 335-4609 or email@example.com at least one week prior to the activity.
