CAC Gardening Project with Alumni | Civic Engagement Week (CCE Transportation Provided)
Organizational Information: Community Action Center empowers people and communities of Whitman County to be self-sustaining by promoting the self-reliance of people with low to moderate income. Promoting cooperation between local communities to enhance social and economic resource development. This is accomplished by offering services ranging from emergency and transitional housing, food supplements, energy assistance, rental opportunity and home purchase assistance.
Opportunity Description: Students, along with WSU Alumni members will team up to do some work on the community garden plots at Kopple Farm.
Days/Times:Transportation will be provided. Please meet in the CCE Student Resource Center located in the CUB Lower Level L45 at 4:30 PM to meet with your group. We plan to return to campus around 7:30 PM.
Requirements: Service hours are allocated based on the amount of direct service participation and do not include meeting time and transportation to/from the service site. Students can expect to receive 2.5 hours of service. For your own protection please plan to wear closed toe shoes, sneakers, work shoes or boots. Volunteers wearing high heels, open toed shoes or sandals will not be allowed to volunteer. Bring water with you to the project.
