Week of Welcome CAC Garden Assistance (CCE Transportation Provided)
Welcome back, Cougs!
Community Action Center (CAC) empowers people and communities of Whitman County to be self-sustaining by promoting the self-reliance of people with low to moderate income. Promoting cooperation between local communities to enhance social and economic resource development. This is accomplished by offering services ranging from emergency and transitional housing, food supplements, energy assistance, rental opportunity and home purchase assistance.
Event: Students will assist CAC with garden maintenance, including, but not limited to, weeding, harvesting, and clean up of their Food Bank Garden program garden plots, located here at St. James Episcopal Church in Pullman.
Time: Please meet at the CCE office (CUB L45) at 2:45 PM to meet with your group. We will be walking down to the St. James Garden Plot which is located just past Beasley. You can plan on being done with the project at 5:30 PM.
Requirements: Students should come prepared to work outside with close-toed shoes, comfortable clothing, water bottle, sunscreen, and sun hat. Come prepared to get dirty!
Service hours are allocated based on amount of direct service participation and do not include meeting time and transportation to/from the service site. Students can expect to receive 2 hours for service.
