Dancing Lindy Hoppers
The purpose of this club shall be to develop an appreciation and interest in social dancing perfecting the popular 1920-1950 style Lindy Hop. The Lindy Hop style of dance originated as a popular swing style associated with popular jazz music in the early 1900’s; originating in Harlem in 1927. Other popular dances associated with this style of swing are Balboa, West Coast Swing, East Coast Swing, and Charleston. The focus of this club will foster an environment of social dancing on the Wright State University campus through lessons, open dance practice, partnering with other colleges for dance exchanges, fundraisers, and faculty-student relationships.
