WSU & UI Campus-Community Forum 2018
Please join us for the 2018 Campus-Community Forum: Building Bridges on Tuesday, May 15th from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm. The forum will be held in the Vandal Ballroom, UI Pitman Center, 709 Deakin Avenue, Moscow, ID. Check-in begins at 8:30 am for participants to network. The program will begin promptly at 9:00 am.
The Campus-Community Forum is an annual event for community partners, faculty, students and university staff to come together to discuss campus-community partnerships and student civic engagement. This year will include a keynote from Dr. Lane Perry, Director, Center for Service Learning at Western Carolina University. The forum is hosted by the UI Center for Volunteerism & Social Action, the UI Center for Excellence in Teaching & Learning, and the WSU Center for Civic Engagement.
New for 2018:
Service Learning 101 Workshops from 1-2 pm (Choose One) (1) Community Partners. This session is for new Community Partners and new Partner staff to get an overview of how best to access WSU & UI campuses, brief orientation to the online system used by both campuses to promote and track community engagement, and the basics of service-learning versus volunteering. (2) Faculty. This session is for faculty and university staff to delve more deeply into best practices for embedding service-learning into course development and fostering partnerships with community organizations.
A light lunch and morning refreshments will be provided. Free parking is available nearby.
