The Associated Students for Historic Preservation was founded in 1988 by students in UO's historic preservation program. ASHP's purpose is to advance knowledge and understanding among students, professionals, and educators throughout the nation about the preservation field. Members of ASHP are responsible for publishing the ASHP Journal, organizing Historic Preservation Week, arranging special lectures and events, and sponsoring field trips to historic sites.

ASHP has also started a series of casual events, called ASHP After Hours. These social gatherings take place at local businesses and provide a venue to socialize with your cohort outside of class time. See our events page for upcoming ASHP After Hours affairs.
