Welcome to the website of the NCSU chapter of Materials Research Society!
In the late 1960’s, the Materials Research Society (MRS) was formed to bring people in the field together, like the student chapter at NCSU, whose goal is to generate student interest in materials research. The society’s core principles are centered around interdisciplinary symposia and fostering a greater interaction among researchers. See parent organization.
NCSU has a plethora of departments engaging in materials research ranging from Biomedical Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Physics, Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Materials Science and Engineering.
Recent seminar speakers include: Jacob Jones (MSE), Thom Labean (MSE), James Lebeau (MSE), Michael Dickey (CHE)
The mission of the Materials Research Society Chapter at North Carolina State University is to promote interdisciplinary basic research on materials of interest. The Chapter aims to bring together students and faculty from various backgrounds in materials to further the exchange of knowledge and ideas between the different programs.
