Help us lead VFSA to the next level

The VFSA team just came back from Student Veterans of America National Conference and we are excited to start working on new ideas and practices we learned at the conference.  We are looking to fill these vacant positions.  If you are interested, please drop by the Veterans Center and talk to one of the Officers or reach out directly to any of us.

We are filling these positions by either appointment if there is only one person interested or election if there is multiple interest.  Appointments will be discussed on January 25th and appointed afterwards.  If there is multiple interest, we will have elections on February 1st.  Come join us and make a positive difference!

Director of Finance

Billet description

Is familiar with accounting procedures and policies

Serves as the primary signatory on financial accounts
Serves as a chair of the finance committee
Pays organizational bills
Collects organizational dues
Keeps all financial records of the organization
Prepares an annual budget
Prepares all budget request for funds
Prepares and submits financial reports to the members
Maintains a financial history of the organization
Provides adviser the summary of financial records at the end of the academic year
Advises members of financial matters (i.e. vendors, ticket selling procedures)
Prepares purchase orders, requisition forms, or supply request
Coordinates fundraising drives
Coordinates solicitations
Files reports on all stolen or lost equipment
Maintains an inventory of all equipment and condition
Represent organization at official functions
Remain fair and impartial during organizational decision making processes
Perform other duties as directed by the President

Meeting Coordinator

Billet description

Obtain appropriate facilities for organization activities
Keep record of all members of the organization
Keep record of all activities of the organization
Prepare an agenda with the President for all meetings
Notifies all members of meetings
Prepare organization's calendar of events
Keeps the Organization informed of both organizational and university business
Keeps and distributes minutes of each meeting of the organization
Creates and distributes agendas for each meeting of the organization
Maintains attendance at all meetings
Serves as the organization's recognition and appreciation coordinator
Maintains organizational records, storage, and office
Prepares and files any report required
Handles all official correspondence of the organization
Collects organization mail from the adviser or wherever mail is received
Represent organization at official functions
Remain fair and impartial during organizational decision making processes
Perform other duties as directed by the President

Recruiting Officer

Billet description

Is familiar with recruiting procedures and policies
Serves as the primary Recruiting Officer for the organization
Serves as chair of the recruiting committee
Conducts recruiting events with the Social Events Coordinator

Conduct recruiting events at local community colleges

Keeps records of recruiting events hosted by the organization
Prepares a budget requesting funds for recruiting events
Prepares and submits budget requesting funds for recruiting events to the members of the organization
Maintains a financial history of recruiting event programs
Provides Adviser the summary of recruiting records at the end of the academic year
Advice members on recruiting matters (i.e.  meet the members)
Coordinate recruiting events
Represents organization at official functions
Remains fair and impartial during organization decision making processes
Performs other duties as directed by the President

Public Relations Officer

Billet Description
Is familiar with Public Relations procedures and policies in regards to VFSA organization
Serves as the primary Public Relations officer for the organization

Attends UO Public Relations Student Society of America meetings

Attends UO Social Media Club meetings
Creates/Maintains our Facebook page
Creates/Maintains our Twitter account
Creates/Maintains our Instagram account
Creates/Maintains our Blog
Creates/Maintains or Vet Stories page
Serves as chair of the Public Relations committee
Coordinates Public Relations releases and social media posting with the Special Events Coordinator
Keeps records of Public Relations events posted by the organization
Prepares a budget requesting funds for Public Relations events
Prepares and submits budget requesting funds for Public Relations events to the members of the organization
Maintains a financial history of Public Relations events
Provides Adviser the summary of Public Relations records at the end of the academic year
Advice members on Public Relations matters
Coordinate with any Officer/Coordinator to ensure Public Relations are in support of VFSA cause
Represents organization at official functions
Remains fair and impartial during organization decision making processes
Performs other duties as directed by the President
