Our mission is to expand our own knowledge of the technological field together. We are interested in what YOU are interested in. We work on projects that students are interested in, such as "purse lights" and webpages for RSO's and local businesses. We attend WiT conferences and other networking opportunities for jobs and career fairs.
The purpose of WiT shall be the dissemination of knowledge and practice of all aspects of computer science, information technology, or the related arts and sciences, the promotion of women in a male dominated field of study, as well as the furtherance of the professional development of the students. What is WiT? Women in Technology is an organization built by women to empower everyone pursuing an education/career in STEM fields. How we do it? Through hands-on learning, every WiT member will build on their professional development, learn technical interview skills, programming and hardware/software concepts, software development methodologies, contribute to an open source project, build interpersonal skills, and much more. Why we do it? The world needs great engineers and software developers. Every CS/IT student should have exposure to real world problems in software development/engineering and to learn how to relate homework to real world scenarios. We want to equip our members with the skills to not only be marketable to employers, but to become a part of the next generation of great software developers and engineers. We believe that sharing information, knowledge, and expertise is the best way to help every aspiring software engineer or IT specialist achieve success. Meeting times: Starting September 7, 2015- every Monday at 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in PE 419. If you have any questions, please contact Ting Li (email@example.com)
