2016 Faculty and Staff Exceptional Women's Awards

The UCO Exceptional Women’s awards recognizes exceptional efforts toward the advancement of women at UCO beyond the scope of an individual's job, area of research, or student responsibilities. Each year two individuals are selected—one faculty or staff, one student—and both women and men are eligible to receive the awards.

Women's History Month 2016

The Women's Outreach Center at UCO is proud to celebrate and highlight Women's History Month during the month of March. All month long, we will highlight the contributions of women in history and celebrate female empowerment. The Vagina Monologues

The University of Central Oklahoma’s Women’s Outreach Center (WOC) and American Association of University Women @ Central will host “The Vagina Monologues,” at 8 p.m. this Wednesday, February 24th in the Radke Recital Hall in Central’s Center for Transformative Learning.  Originally written by playwright Eve Ensler in 1996, “The Vagina Monologues” is meant to empower women. Vagina Monologues Auditions

The Vagina Monologues is made up of a varying number of monologues read by a varying number of women.  Each of the monologues deals with an aspect of the feminine experience. A recurring theme throughout the piece is female empowerment, and the ultimate embodiment of individuality.

Women in STEM Peer Mentee Application

The Women in STEM Peer Mentoring Program creates a network of women in the science, technology, engineering and mathematics fields by connecting UCO female STEM students to each other and to women in STEM professions.   Monthly peer support meetings, group activities, and discussion of STEM issues encourage intellectual, professional, and personal growth in the STEM field.

The N.E.W. Leadership Program, coordinated by the Women's Leadership Initiative of the Carl Albert Center at the University of Oklahoma, is wonderful.
