Taste of the Caribbean
CCC's annual "Taste of the Caribbean" event is one of our most highly attended events of the year in which general members come together with CCC's e-board to partake in several signature dishes often found in the West Indies. CCC often orders from popular West Indian Restaurant's found in the Boston Area. While sharing our culinary culture with the BC campus, we will provide entertainment from a local West Indian band. At first we planned on putting on two seperate events for the food and band, but the combination allows a more enriched experience to fully give a "taste of the caribbean" by providing visual, auditory, olfactory, and gustatory senses. While eating, attendees will be given a presentation by the CCC e-board, about the history and development of traditional West Indian dishes that have been influenced heavily by countries in Asia, South Asia, Africa and South America. Thus, through food, entertainment, and discussion, CCC hopes to illuminate the culinary and musical culture of the West Indies that has been heavily influenced by countries in the far east.
