20th Annual President's Student Leadership Awards Ceremony and Dinner - May 9th

Please join us as we recognize student leadership and student organizations at Metropolitan State University across four categories. 

This will be our 20th annual awards ceremony and will be held on Wednesday, May 9 in the Great Hall. We'll gather at 5:30pm to mix and mingle to music, and start the program at 6:00pm.

This award is given to a student organization advisor who has gone above and beyond the call of duty to serve and support both the organization and its members.


To be awarded to the student group that produced a program, event or publication that provided an exceptional service or benefit to the Metropolitan State University community.


This award goes to a student organization that has provided its membership and/or the Metropolitan State University community with exceptional programming, activities and/or community service.


The Perseverance Award honors a new alumnus (class of May 2018 or December 2017) who successfully overcame a significant challenge(s) to obtain his/her degree.  

As a show of respect for the privacy of others, please do not submit a nomination for a student/alumnus without first obtaining his or her approval. Understandably, some people prefer to keep any challenges they've overcome to themselves, and do not wish to be recognized. 

2018 Nominees: STUDENT LEADERS OF THE YEAR (2 winners to be chosen)

This award will be given to two students who have exhibited exceptional leadership, service and personal character and good academic standing. Each student leader of the year will receive a cash award of $100, which is sponsored by the Metropolitan State University Alumni Association.

We are less than 2 weeks away from our QPR courses. Each participant will receive a $25 Amazon Gift Card for their participation.  

QPR, stands for Question Persuade Refer. This course will teach you the warning signs of suicide, how to approach someone who may be considering suicide, the campus and community resources available to students, and how to refer a person-in-distress to help. Trainings are 2 hours long.

Winter Clothing Drive & Free Shopping Event

The Social Work Student Association is hosting a winter clothing drive and free "shopping" event!

Donate your clothes to bins located in the Student Center, Founders Hall, and Library through Friday, March 9 and then join us in the Student Center, room 101 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM to shop for free!

You do not have to be a Metropolitan State University student to participate.
