Welcome to the Health Science Club!
The Health Science Club is a campus organization open to those interested in the health sciences.
We bring ophthalmologists, optometrists, chiropractors, radiologists, podiatrists, veterinarians, medical students, medical researchers, physician assistants, physical therapists, pharmacists, dentists and other health care professionals to campus to talk about their jobs, training and lifestyles. Furthermore, there are a variety of social activities including pizza lunches, picnics, and bowling! We also put together a t-shirt for the Molecular & Life Science Program each year.
The Health Science Club aims to provide information and answer questions for important career decisions in the health field.
The Health Science Club is a student-run group whose focus is to inform Loras undergraduates of the opportunities available in many of the health science fields. The group usually meets once per month in Rm 134 Science. Meetings are called via an email list. Activities include panels of seniors to talk about their experiences in the application and interview processes, professor panels for students to ask about classes to take and requirements for various programs, guest speakers including current and past medical students, residents, PAs, physicians, nurse practitioners, dentists, optometrists, and other health professionals, fund raiser events, service projects and social nights with science and other faculty like bowling or softball. This club is open to any undergraduate at Loras.
