Every year, the Southeast Asian Student Association strives to properly and effectively relay the defining features of the cultures and countries it represents and nothing accomplishes this task better than our annual Culture Show. Each year, we seek more interesting and more innovative ways to bring our culture to life on stage and because we represent eleven unique countries with unique backgrounds and histories. This year promises to be our biggest yet as we once again look to push the envelope and discover new ways to connect to our membership through captivating dances in Southeast Asia. In years past, we have done well to give our audience a fair education into some aspects of the culture in addition to conveying the culture through dances, fashion shows, and even martial arts. This year, we will try to focus more on the cultural relevance of the dancing itself, allowing our audience and members to experience the show and understand the significance behind it. The power of the Culture show is more than a means to entertain the BC student body; it is to continue the education of the Southeast Asian traditions and uphold our mission statement.
