The purposes of this organization shall be to:
A. Provide opportunities for informal interaction among faculty and students, and to give students a voice in matters of concern to faculty and students;
B. Organize and sponsor workshops, conferences, and lectures of interest to students majoring in English;
C. Encourage Boise State English majors to present scholarly and creative works;
D. Engage in independent and non-traditional study;
E. Provide a mechanism through which students may meet one another, discuss matters of mutual interest, achieve mutual goals, and enhance their stay at BSU through social and extracurricular activities.
F. To forge new connections with the community, which encompasses:
a.) Potential incoming freshmen to BSU with any interest in English, considering a major in English or not, to instill a passion for learning and student involvement with BSU
b.) Those who support BSU and local teaching and learning
c.) Those involved in local schools in any way (teachers, students, promoters of learning, school donators, etc.)
