Get Ready to Serve & Lead

The Leadership and Volunteer Center (LVC) at Oakland University provide students with opportunities to enhance their leadership abilities and opportunities to volunteer in community service programs throughout the year.

There will be several opportunities to participate in leadership and volunteer experiences:

Large community service programming includes OU Day of Service, Make a Difference Day, and MLK Day of Service. Alternative Spring Break is another chance for students to engage in strong direct service during their spring break.

The Volunteer, Involvement & Partnerships (VIP) program allows students to track their volunteer hours and be honored at CSA's annual awards banquet. Please consider attending Leadership ExplOUration Series. This is a leadership skills training series where guest speakers and leadership consultants train students on various leadership skills. This is a fantastic opportunity for e-board members or really any student interested in developing leadership skills for their resume.

In addition, the LVC is home to the Student Leadership Consultants who have been trained to teach leadership to their student peers. We are passionate about "Living Leadership." From Jump Start for first year students to monthly volunteer programs, there are many opportunities to get engaged in service and leadership. We encourage students to stop by the LVC, check out our website: www.oakland.edu/lead.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us. Call us at: 248-370-4334. We are thrilled that you chose to Serve & Lead.
