Eric Weigel was an active member of FUOC. Many of you know by now that he passed away last week in a kayaking accident. Alecia made a nice post about this in the FUOC OrgSync page that you should check out.

Slater-Marietta Park was renamed Jimi Turner Park to honor this long-time Greenville Rec employee and volunteer. Jimi has selflessly given himself over the years and made his community a better place through hard work and devotion to helping people in need. He is a true inspiration to everyone at Greenville Rec.

A popular destination on the GHS Swamp Rabbit Trail is Gateway Park, home to the expanding bike skills flow park. This park is just a 15 minute bicycle ride from Furman! A grant from the federally-funded Recreational Trails Program is enabling us to expand the trails throughout the park. To do so we need lots of volunteers to roll up their sleeves and pitch in. We will be working several weekends in February & March.
