Leadership Circles Application 2018

Leadership Circles are a development opportunity for emerging and experienced student leaders across campus to work as a collective toward a common goal or project related to leadership. They are peer-led groups that can expect to:

- Work collaboratively on a leadership development project on campus or in the community
- Present a leadership topic at the high school leadership conference as a group
- Attend a leadership circle retreat
- Engage in leadership discussions and trainings
- Work with a staff or faculty mentor for project assistance

In addition, students can expect to:

- Work with and develop relationships with others across campus
- Deepen their understanding of leadership, leadership theories, leadership styles, and preferences and put them into practice
- Be challenged by working independently and as a group
- Able to share personal experiences and knowledge base to help the group process
- Strengthen skills related to leadership development including relationship building, communication, creativity, problem solving, accountability, assertiveness, and organization
- Able to express the impact of the experience on personal leadership development and appreciate the opinions and input provided by others
- Reflect on personal strengths and the strengths of others
- Provide a meaningful leadership development experience for participants and for those impacted by the leadership projects
- Apply leadership principles and theories beyond graduation at UW-Eau Claire

Projects are to be completed by the end of the Spring 2019 semester.  Applications are due Friday, November 16, 2018. Students will be contacted after the due date to set up interview times for the following week to determine group placements.
