We are holding regular lessons and even hosting a few dance events throughout town but that is nothing compared to what we have planned!

Lessons are continuing this semester as follows:

Remember that all of our lessons are taught by professional instructors and are free to Mines students!

In addition, we have three dance teams that are part of our club! We have our swing dance team the Slideruler's, our Waltz team Perpetual Motion, and our Tango team, the Tangents.

The Sliderulers will be training for this year's Intercollegiate Swing Battle once again! The Sliderulers are CSM's own performance Swing Dance team. Typically, we practice throughout a good portion of the fall and spring semesters to compete in the annual Inter-Collegiate Swing Battle! In 2015, 2016 and 2017, the Sliderulers took 2nd place! Team choreography is a classic part of swing dance history and is a fantastic way to jump into the community, as well as learn at a rapid pace. The Sliderulers are a beginner to intermediate team, so no prior experience is needed, just the drive and initiative to learn the routine. If you're interested, check out our videos from past years and then email us at to find out how to join!

CSM Perpetual Motion is the Performance Waltz Team for the Colorado School of Mines.  The team is open to all levels and is a great way to practice and learn the art of Viennese Waltz!  We perform at various CSM events and some community events.  Currently, we practice from 6-8 pm on Monday nights, in the McNeil room of the Rec Center (contact us beforehand, to make sure we didn't get moved!). If you would like a way to quickly learn or improve your Viennese Waltz while meeting fun people and performing, contact us at

The CSM Tangents is our club's performance Tango team.  We accept member's of all skill levels and welcome beginners to join.  We teach members how to dance Argentine Tango socially and then we create a choreography that we perform at various dances both on and off campus.  If you are interested in joining the team contact the captain, Angela Moser, at
