International Education Week 2015
Oct 27, 2015 by Mark Miceli
Initiated in 2000 by the US Department of State and the Department of Education, International Education Week emphasizes the importance of increasing knowledge and awareness of the world's cultures, peoples and languages, and affirms the critical role the international education plays at Boston College.
Celebrated at Boston College from November 9th to 20th, IEW is an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. The week is dedicated to enhancing international awareness across BC's campus as well as to reinforcing the importance of the exchange of students and scholars across borders.
The theme for Boston College’s 2015 IEW is: "A world on the move: Who are we and where are we going?" This theme is designed to not only thread together IEW activities, yet also set the stage for a broader conversation on campus, allowing faculty, students, and staff to explore an array of interrelated topics including displacement, immigration, migration, and refugees, among others. Not all events will necessarily address one of these topics, and will instead showcase some aspect of BC’s international programs and activities
Check out the great events and join in the internationalization of Boston College!
