Hello and welcome to the CSULB Kung Fu Club! The focus of our club is to learn traditional Chinese Martial Arts as a practical self-defense that is not limited to fighting, but can also be a way of life that develops the internal well-being in addition to external physical health. There is no prior experience of any martial arts needed to join, just a willingness to learn. Styles taught are northern based and include Praying Mantis Chuan, Long Fist (Tan Tui), Tai Chi Chuan, and Pi Gua Zhang, Baiji Chuan, Bagua Zhang.

Description

The purpose of the CSULB Kung Fu Club is to provide a learning environment so students can learn and experience a traditional Chinese Martial Art from the Wu Tan Chinese Martial Arts Association. Students will learn basic Kung Fu skills such as stances, punches, kicks, and various footwork in addition to certain pre-arranged forms in several styles such as Praying Mantis Chuan, Pi Gua, and Tai Chi Chuan with its' respective applications.

Wu Tan Chinese Martial Arts Association was originally founded in Taiwan by Grandmaster Liu Yun Chiao. Grandmaster Liu had mastered five complete Kung Fu systems as well as being proficient in many other styles. the Wu Tan Chinese Martial Arts Association is presently promoting traditional Northern Kung Fu systems around the globe with a focus in the United States, Japan and Venezuela.

The major systems that are being taught are: Praying Mantis Chuan, Tai Chi Chuan, and Pi Gua Zhang.

Tuesday: KIN West gym from 4pm-6pm
Wednesday: KIN 60 5PM-7PM
Thursday: KIN 60 4PM-6PM
Saturday: KIN 93 10AM-12PM
