The Leadership Center in Student Involvement | MISSION STATEMENT
The Leadership Center in Student Involvement provides empowering, innovative, and educational programming that strives to build successful leaders by developing them to find their passions, engage in leadership theory and its practical applications, and foster community, in promoting a culture of leadership at WSU.
The Cougar Leadership Team (CLT) serves as the premier leadership engagement opportunity at Washington State. The CLT is led by a student executive director and several student staff members who are trained on facilitations, team dynamics, group presentations, event management and programming, team builders, and other skills that they can then go out and facilitate to peers, RSO’s, community members, and others. The CLT is a paid staff position and seeks to further engage in citizenship, which is the final C within the Social Change Model. A total of six directors comprise of the team, with responsibilities for: The Emerging Leaders Program, Cougar Leadership VIP, and The Pacific Northwest Collegiate Leadership Conference. In addition, an Associate Director for Programming, and the Student Executive Director rounds out the team.
Each director will have the opportunity to work up to ten (10) hours a week starting in Fall 2017 through Spring 2018 within Student Involvement. There are opportunities for summer work and will be discussed on a case-by-case experience.
