Changes to K-State Student Union Food Policy

Aug 4, 2014 by Bill Harlan

The K-State Student Union has announced new policies regarding outside food use within the building.

Student organizations are now permitted to bring packaged food items from outside the Union for meetings of their organization to the following second floor meeting rooms:  202,203,204,205,206,207,208, 209, 212, 226, and 227.   Groups must indicate their intent to bring food into these spaces for their meetings when reserving the room, and sign a food permit form.

Also, for ethnic/International food events in the Union, certain food items may be brought into the Union for scheduled events when the food reflects a unique ethnic character.  Permission must be given in advance when reserving the space of the event.

Please be careful to follow all policies regarding usage of the K-State Student Union so that we can continue to have this great service provided to student organizations at K-State.

Updated 10/9/14 - The policy has been changed to include rooms 226 and 227 along with the previously listed rooms.

Good improvement! We usually purchase chips from Cat's Den & Subway Sandwiches so that we do not have to deal with these issues.
