Student Volunteerism - Tech Tutors (Off-Campus)
We’re all accustomed to using smartphones and tablets but what about those that haven’t grown up with this technology?
Tech Tutors gives you the opportunity to give back to the community by helping senior citizens with basic technology questions. You will have a one-on-one conversation with an elder about the essential uses of an iPhone, iPad or other devices. Some common questions that you might be asked are how to send an email, how to take pictures or how to use an app. Join us in this rewarding and engaging service opportunity!
We will meet at the Visitor Center Atrium at 1:45PM and then carpool to the retirement facility. Before you register for this event, please make sure that you have experience and knowledge of smart devices.
Proof of Service Hours
If you need proof of service hours (i.e. for a class, organization, court order, etc.), you may choose one of the following options:
1) Use the Timesheets function on Orgsync. OSV will approve hours after you have volunteered at the event. For a walk-through on how to submit a Timesheet, please click here.
2) Bring a form to the volunteer event or OSV office (SSB 3.600) to be signed and authorized.
The OSV is NOT responsible for providing proof of service hours. It is the student's responsibility to provide documentation. OSV will be happy to authorize hours for volunteers that participate in OSV events.
