ASB 2015 - Reflection Reception RSVP

Hello ASBers!

Now that the trips are over, it is time to reconnect and reflect upon the service and memories created during ASB. Bone Marrow Donor Drive!

You’re invited to our swab party!

Tomorrow the Office of Student Volunteerism, Student Leadership Programs, Tau Sigma and Phi Theta Kappa are hosting a Bone Marrow Donor Drive with Delete Blood Cancer. The OSV is hosting a September bone marrow donor drive with Delete Blood Cancer in honor of National Blood Cancer Awareness Month. Common blood cancers like leukemia, lymphoma and multiple myeloma sometimes cannot be treated with chemotherapy alone. Many times a bone marrow or stem cell transplant is the patient’s only hope for treatment and survival.

Student Volunteerism - Richardson Animal Shelter (Off-Campus)

Join the Office of Student Volunteerism as we assist the Richardson Animal Shelter with cleaning bowls, crates and pet toys. We will also walk dogs and socialize with the cats there.

We will meet in the Visitor Center Atrium at 9:00 A.M. and carpool to the Richardson Animal Shelter at 9:15 A.M.

Wear comfortable clothing and close-toed shoes. No flip-flops or shorts that are too short for your protection.

OSV March Book Drive

Hey Comets!

Join the Office of Student Volunteerism in gathering 200 books for Pegasus School of Liberal Arts and Sciences, a charter school in Dallas without a library for their elementary to high school students. All books (even textbooks!) for ages 5 to 17 years old will be accepted.

Donation boxes are located in the OSV office (SSB 3.600), Res Hall SW, Activity Center, McDermott Library and Student Union First Floor.

Hi Tasnim,

We post all of our event registration information on our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/cometscare. Generally, we post event registration 2 weeks before the actual event date; however, due to spring break this month, we opened Richardson Animal Shelter two days early to make sure students had enough time to register. We recommend checking our Facebook page for the most up-to-date registration information. Thank you!

OSV Can Opener Drive

This February, the OSV is gathering non-electric can openers for the Comet Cupboard! Drop off can openers to a donation box on campus! Boxes are in the OSV office (SSB 3.600), Res Hall SW and the Activity Center. Help the OSV raise 200 can openers for fellow Comets today!
