Leadership Education & Action Program (LEAP) Application | ED 20 Winter 2015
The Leadership Education & Action Program (LEAP) is designed for first-year FRESHMAN STUDENTS from a wide range of backgrounds and with a variety of future goals. This program will provide intensive leadership training, access to leadership opportunities, and foster potential as a future leader at UCSB and beyond. Only 20 students will be selected.
Participants will get the chance to work with a student mentor to further guide them in an area/issue of their interest. This program not only provides leadership training, it also gives the selected students tools to better understand themselves as a growing leader, student and unique individual.
- Concurrent enrollment in ED 20 (University Success Course) with special LEAP discussion (Thursdays, 3:30-6:15pm) - students not yet enrolled will receive an add code
- Peer mentoring by an assigned student leader (6 hours Minimum)
- Participation in the LEAP Retreat featuring The Leadership Challenge Workshop and the Leadership Practices Inventory feedback instrument (scheduled as a group for a Saturday)
- Planning and participation in a group community service experience (scheduled as a group)
