Staff Discussion-Leader Application

Education (ED) 20 is the University Freshmen Success Course designed to assist first-year students in becoming successful members of the university community and beyond. The course introduces students to the role of higher education in society and their role within our community of scholars. Topics cover academic, social, and personal issues that are relevant to college students; students are encouraged to become active participants in making their experience what they want it to be. ED 20 utilizes faculty and staff to create a unique and positive learning environment. Students are encouraged to become active participants in making their experience what they want it to be.

Discussion leaders facilitate a discussion section along with a student co-leader. Serve as mentor, teacher, and role model.

Class begins Spring Quarter and meets Thursdays at 3:30. Discussion Sections meet 5:00 to 6:15 p.m the same day.
Weekly teaching team meetings will be held on Mondays at 12:15 
 in SRB 2154. 

Qualifications: Current staff members interested in professional growth, networking, and serving students in a new way. Supervisor approval necessary. Ability to make it to all meetings, lectures, and sections. 

All applicants must be available on the following dates and times for interviews and training.

The first meeting will be on Monday, April 2 & first lecture, Thursday, April 5.
