We hope to see you at one of our events soon!
The Society of Physics Students (SPS) is a professional association open to anyone interested in physics. The purpose of SPS is to enrich the experience of physics students outside of the classroom and have fun doing it! Through lectures, discussion groups, outreach, and networking with local scientists, our chapter aims to develop the soft skills associated with professional success to complement skills learned through coursework, while fostering a strong community of physics students on the Auraria campus.
Science and Technology
The Society of Physics Students exists to help students transform themselves into contributing members of the professional physics community. We aim to engage students outside of the science classroom because coursework develops only one range of skills. Other skills needed to flourish professionally include effective communication and personal interactions, leadership experience, establishing a personal network of contacts, presenting scholarly work in professional meetings and journals, and outreach services to the campus and local community. Our SPS chapter offers the opportunity to take part in all of these important enrichments to the student experience.
We do not require dues of our members.
If your organization has selective membership, please describe the intake process.
Anyone interested in physics may join, though we do require that they write a short statement on why they'd like to join when signing up on OrgSync.
