Student-Employee of the Year 2019
The Outstanding Student-Employee of the Year is a recognition program created for high performing student-employees working for the University of Idaho. Once per year, direct supervisors from various departments at the Moscow campus and regional centers can nominate current student-employees to be recipients of the award. The Student-Employee of the Year will be recognized at the Student Achievement Awards at the end of each spring semester.
To be eligible, students must have a 3.00 (undergraduate) and 3.50 (graduate) cumulative GPA, be currently enrolled at UI and have been employed for at least three months to be considered for the award*. Eligible student-employees must also be currently employed and drawing UI paychecks. No outside organizations are eligible for participation.
*Note: nomination selection period: June of previous year through end of January in current year
Direct supervisor nomination guidelines
Direct supervisors can nominate a maximum of one student-employee per UI functional area (for example, Career Services could nominate one student career advisor, one student marketing intern, and one student employer relations specialist, etc.).
Participating supervisors should complete the online application form on VandalSync. Nominations will be judged on the following characteristics: reliability, quality of work, initiative, and impact of contributions to the employer. Successful nominees will reflect the aforementioned characteristics through concrete experiences over the current selection period. Previous selection period experiences will be considered, but cited examples of nominees should focus on current selection period contributions.
Number of student award recipients & award amounts:
Each spring, a total of four student-employees will be recognized and awarded $300 each for their outstanding contributions in the workplace. Award winners may include two graduate students and two undergraduate students from either the Moscow Campus or regional centers.
