 Greetings and Salutation,

Welcome to the Ohh So Outrageous Omicron Mu Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated®. I would like to encourage you to explore our page and learn about our illustrious organization.

On January 15, 1908, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. became the first Greek-letter organization for African American college women. For the past 111 years, our sorority has continued to uphold the values of sisterhood, scholarship, and supreme service in our communities.

Since its chartering on May 14, 1988, the Omicron Mu Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. strives to preserve the heritage that Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. was founded upon. Located on the campus of Samford University, Omicron Mu is exceptionally involved in implementing service through some of our signature programs such as "October Service Month, Pink Goes Red for a Day, Pennies for a Cause, and Women's History Month Celebration” to name a few. It is my absolute honor to serve as the president of such a distinguished chapter.

The members of Omicron Mu are increasingly committed, not only on campus, but also in our community. I am especially pleased with the outstanding reputation of Omicron Mu has here on Samford’s campus, and on both a regional and national level. We pride ourselves on possessing all of the characteristics of an Alpha Kappa Alpha woman should and we exalt our history of being the first Greek-lettered organization established by African-American college women and also in our purpose—to be “a service to all mankind." Omicron Mu maintains a stronghold on the mission of our prestigious sorority.

My hope is that you are able to share in the many memories we have made thus far and to ensure you that many more are to come. We sincerely appreciate your visit to our chapter's page. Please feel free to browse the pages and see all that Omicron Mu has to offer our great university and the surrounding communities. Thanks again and Go Bulldogs!

Sisterly in Service,
Alexis Peaks, President 2018-2019
