Board of Trustees Student Representative Application 2016

Please complete this form to apply for the Board of Trustees Student Representative position. This application is due by April 15th, 2016 at 11:45pm.

 

ELIGIBILITY:

  • Full time CSU student status: Undergrad ≥ 12 credits or Grad/Law ≥ 9 credits
  • 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher
  • At least Sophomore status at the time of assuming the position.
     

SELECTION PROCESS:

  1. Ohio Amended House Bill 24, effective July 26, 1988, provides for appointments of students as non-voting members to the State Universities Boards of Trustees.

  2. Each year, five candidates will be selected from the CSU student body; from these the Governor’s Office will choose one student to serve a two-year term.

  3. Department of Student Life opens applications for two weeks to all students and advertise through campus email

  4. Eligibility is checked on applicants by a staff member of Student Life

  5. A committee compiled of students from the Student Government Association reviews the eligible candidate’s applications and ranks the top ten. If eligible, the President and Vice President of the Student Government and President of the Student Bar Association are automatically pushed to the top five of the list.

  6. The committee presents the top ten list of candidates to the Student Government Association Senate to ratify the list and submit the top five to President Berkman/Dr. Napier.

  7. Dr. Napier meets with the top five candidates to discuss the position and submits the list to President Berkman.

  8. President Berkman sends this list to the Governor’s office.
