Institute of Transportation Engineers SPSU Chapter
The Institute of Transportation Engineers is an international educational and scientific association of transportation professionals who are responsible for meeting mobility and safety needs. ITE facilitates the application of technology and scientific principles to research, planning, functional design, implementation, operation, policy development and management for any mode of ground transportation. Through its products and services, ITE promotes professional development of its members, supports and encourages education, stimulates research, develops public awareness programs and serves as a conduit for the exchange of professional information. The objectives of the SPSU ITE student chapter, as set forth by the Student Chapter Charter, are to: 1. Promote the advancement of the transportation and traffic engineering profession by fostering the close association of student with the profession and ITE. 2. Acquaint students with topics of interest in transportation and traffic engineering through competent speakers and chapter-sponsored activities. 3. Foster the development of professional spirit. 4. Promote common interests among students. 5. Encourage the expansion of facilities for transportation and traffic engineering study.
