Health Disparities Student Collaborative Group Meeting
The Health Disparities Student Collaborative (HDSC) is a group of students committed to building partnerships between schools, local organizations and communities in Boston aimed at addressing local health disparities.
Our January meetings will be dedicated to our Homelessness Guerilla Awareness Campaign where there will be scheduled speakers on the disparities associated with homelessness, opportunities to donate clothing and time at a soup kitchen, and planning the awareness campaign on-campus.
February-March Meetings will be focused around preparing students for the Preconception Peer Educator training on Feb. 11-13 and then working on initiatives on preconception health from there. These months will have guest speakers on preconception health and the disparities associated with infant mortality, and opportunities to promote awareness around campus.
April meetings will be gearing up for the National Public Health Week (April 4th-8th) and minority health month. This will be a month with guest speakers from different fields of public health on various health disparity issues.
