Stetson Shooting Club
A place for new and old shooters to practice and compete together.
The Stetson Shooting Club is both a recreational and competitive shotgun shooting club that specializes in the clay target shooting disciplines of skeet, trap, and international wobble trap. We encourage experienced shooters to join to club and inexperienced shooters, as we teach safety, fundamentals, and proper techniques for shooting shotguns competitively. Members are welcome to come out and shoot recreationally (usually beginners), however its often that once those people get a taste for the sport they end up being very good competitive shooters. We practice weekly at the Volusia County Skeet and Trap Club, whose outstanding officers have supported our club and coach our shooters. We compete in 2 competitive shoots in both the fall and the spring, including a shoot in Jacksonville. Our club dues for the entire school year are $250 with an addition $25 membership fee to our home range, Volusia County Skeet and Trap Club. Our club dues cover targets, ammunition, hats, travel expenses and competition expenses. Since every shooter is given 100 shots per week (4 rounds), the amount we charge for dues is a small fraction of what it costs the club to run its operations. Additionally, the Shooting Club is not simply about gaining the opportunity to fire a shotgun, it provides the opportunity to connect and work with terrific members of Stetson faculty, city officials, and engaged community members. The Shooting Club is surrounded by experienced people who support and help you grow into a leader. It's truly a well rounded experience....that also just so happens to be a great stress reliever.
