Welcome to those who have joined our org recently or this school year! In case you haven't personally met with Taylor or myself yet, I'd like to extend an invitation to you to join Me on a Thursday route, or Taylor on a Friday route. Both routes run from about 10:50 am (if you get out of class at this time we can come pick you up!) through about 12:30 pm. You can contact Taylor at (715) 271-6636 or t.millington@tcu.edu, or myself at (817) 885-0895 or jose.vallejo@tcu.edu if you're interested. If you already have your class schedules set for next semester, let us know if you're able to join us in the fall!

Description

The purpose of this organization is to serve the elderly and disabled Fort Worth population through the local chapter of Meals on Wheels and other organizations that serve the same population.

The student organization will collaborate with the Meals on Wheels chapter by filling in volunteers on a designated route, and providing substitute drivers and volunteers on other days as needed. Student members will deliver meals to clients on a designated route once a week.

The organization will also have the ability to expand efforts into other organizations that clearly benefit the same population of Fort Worth, and may contribute synergistically to the efforts of the organization members and enhance their experience with the Meals on Wheels Student Association.

Membership in this organization shall be open to any current TCU student and will not discriminate in the selection of members on the basis of sex, race, color, religion, national origin, or sexual orientation.

All active members must maintain good standing in the organization by attending at least four formal bimonthly meetings per semester. Additionally, each member must be on at least one Meals on Wheels Student Association committee and must be actively attending the committees scheduled meetings. Each member is suggested to go on the route at least twice a semester, but if this is unattainable due to class schedules or work conflicts, this is acceptable provided the member sends notification to the historian. If a member cannot go on the route, the member should be available to help execute a successful route for members who can attend.

Membership Dues/Fees

Will your organization require members to pay dues or entrance/initiation fees?

No

If yes, please define dues and initiation expenses (include if dues are paid by semester or year)

Dues for the year for the organization will be $10 dollars and will be collected at a date specified by the officers, usually occurring within the first month of meeting at the beginning of each academic year. A payment plan option will be available as needed. Collection of dues will occur at formal bimonthly meetings by the treasurer. Members who have not paid their dues by two weeks past the specified collection date will be considered out of good financial standing, and will be on probation until dues are collected or the problem is resolved between the member and the officers.
